Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I document my adventures in Paris and beyond. Bon séjour!

Parc André Citroën & La Petite Ceinture

Parc André Citroën & La Petite Ceinture

Even though the weather was a bit blah on Sunday, we ventured out to do some exploring. After a 35 minute-ride along the Seine and past the Eiffel Tower (on bikes), we found ourselves at the very edge of Paris ready to find the southwestern section of La Petite Ceinture. Unexpectedly, we got the opportunity to wander through two parks in the 15th arrondissement instead of one.

Parc André Citroën welcomed us through a small entrance right along the river. Once inside, we spied the Ballon Generali, not knowing what it was. We didn't go up, but watched as others flocked to see Paris up high (300 meters!) from a giant helium balloon. At only 12 euros, I'll probably find an excuse to go eventually. The park was calm, quiet and completely green - a nice change from noisy traffic and monotone grey.

We had to venture a bit farther south to find La Petite Ceinture. On our way, we walked through La Javelle, a outdoor area with food trucks, drinks, music and more. I'm filing that place away for a warmer day... Finally, we climbed the steps to the abandoned railway and continued our stroll.

It was a relaxing day with grey skies, greenery, and ice cream. Take a look...
